Tom Update
We are still absorbing what we learned yesterday about Tom- The doctor was able to see what has been kicking Tom's cancer count numbers up the past year or so. He has a 2 cm. tumor on the ureter, the tube that goes from his left kidney to the bladder. The doctor recommended chemo beginning in December. Tom also saw a renal (kidney) doctor yesterday- Tom will have a follow-up visit in a couple of weeks to determine how the tumor is affecting function. At this point, we are still not sure what direction to take as far as treatment is concerned. We do know that the tumor is slow-growing, so that is something to be thankful for. We covet your prayers for helping us know what direction to go treatment-wise and cherish all the ones that have been keeping us sheltered the past year and 1/2. Thanks for all that you do for us- we feel the love!

We will be praying for you guys. I love you both!
Praying...
We are all praying for you and Tom. Steve emailed me this morning from Carrollton before I even read Tom's email. Then Dad and I read Tom's email together and cried. But we STILL KNOW God can heal this if it is His will. So we have a lot of hope through that knowledge. We love you and are sending hugs.
Sorry to hear this. We will be praying that God will heal him, if it is His will, and that He will give you peace and strength during this time.
will keep Tom and family in prayer.
Thanks for the update. So thankful the doctors were able to pinpoint what the problem was and where it is located... and like you said, thankful that it is slow-growing. I'm sure this is a major setback for you all, but God will be with you second-by-second/minute-by-minute.... and will see you through again. We will be praying...
Still praying! Hopefully Dad will get to talk to a surgeon sometime, too. Maybe the chemotherapy can bring his counts back to normal again, too. I am thankful to have you as parents, and I am *very* thankful to have such a powerful Father in heaven!
We will keep you all in our prayers...we love you all.
My prayer machine is in gear for you. I'm so sorry this happened. When I learned my cousin had cancer again, I called her and she said, 'Isn't it wonderful that this will bring us before our Heavenly Father's throne more than normal!" Amazing testimony to me and a reminder to be thankful in ALL things - which is very hard to do sometimes. Love to you all.
We're praying for Tom & all of you...anything else we can do please let us know. Love you guys!
I know you all must be struggling right now, but I'll be keeping Tom and you in my prayers.
This is Chryste: I don't have a Xanga account, but have been watching yours since Tom's 1st surgery. I love & greatly admire your whole family! I was so saddened by this news, I can't stop the tears! But be assured our continuing prayers will be even more fervent! Isn't it wonderful that our precious Lord knows our entire life from before our very beginning? I love trusting Him with that knowledge! I'm not sure I would like to always know what comes next! The Lord bless you & keep you!
Keeping Tom in my prayers!
You and Tom are always in my prayers ... God be with you both and the doctor/surgeon to choose the best treatment to get the cancer back in remission. Love you both so much!!!
Lots of prayers . . . and finding comfort in knowing our God is all knowing and ever present.
We're fervently praying and sending our love to all of you guys. We pray that you can make the right decision and that you can feel peace with that decision.
The foregoing comments are but a hint of the effect you and your family have been on your brethren and the community! Everywhere I have traveled recently I've been asked about your health and circumstances. As was mentioned, the mighty engine of prayer has been galvanized into action! The Lord will know of our concern! Love. Dad
So sorry to hear your report. We love you guys and appreciate your being open and sharing these details. We are concerned and want the best for you and like knowing exactly what to pray for. ( Help in making decisions for treatment, peace for you, confidence and accuracy for the doctors and nurses
We are saddened to hear of this report. You have been and will continue to be in our prayers. May God bless Tom and your family during this difficult time!
I think JW's first line says it all. Continued prayers for God's blessing on your life, as you and Tom continue to bless so many of our lives. I've shared this with Betty & Rick this a.m. also b/c their congregation prays for Tom's health as well. Thanks so much for keeping "God's Army" updated.
May the God of all comfort bless and be with you all. Our prayers are with you!
Lots of love to you all, and prayers for comfort and healing and wisdom as you decide what to do.
